Beautiful Lake Tahoe. The best part of our trip, hands down. If we had the funds and a “blow it all on real estate” mindset, we would move there in a heartbeat.
Crystal clear water, beautiful beaches, and genuinely friendly people. What could be better?
If you didn’t guess already, we did not camp here. We tried, I swear. When we arrived at one of the last available campgrounds, we missed the last campsite by FIVE minutes. Next best thing was a night at America’s Best hotel in Tahoe City. Sometimes things just don’t work out as planned. It could have been worse, trust me.
We spent some time walking around town and exploring the shops until sunset. Like tourists, we foolishly navigated through the private beaches to find Bonsai Rock. In all honesty, I thought it would be bigger (that’s what she said).
The next day started out with paddle boarding! You have to if your near a landscape this beautiful.
I think I did pretty good for my first time, considering I didn’t fall in. I kept patting myself on the back for my balance and skill, but I would have done anything to avoid the icy water at 9AM. That includes offering Mike as a sacrifice.
Later that day, we explored more of the surrounding area and checked into our second hotel in South Lake Tahoe.
Another great sunset to end the day.
We spent our final day in Lake Tahoe at one of the private beaches. I sun bathed on a rock and enjoyed the cool water, while Mike dove in with his GoPro. Perfect mini-vacation during our week-long road trip.
Did I mention that we love it here?
